Use Virtual Lists in Multi-user environment

The technique of using a virtual list is known for quite some while in the FileMaker community. A basic introduction with examples can be found at Excelisysweb site.

Michael Rocharde recommends using a local file for the Virtual List if a hosted solution needs multiple users access to and manipulate the data in the list.

We wanted to use this elegant technique to give users a tool to easily sort all kinds of listed data, e.g. a list of phone numbers in a portal, the order of items on an order etc.

It is possible without any extra files with some advanced logic in the manipulation of the list. Users can drag-and-drop items in their lists without interfering with others...
